We are seeking applicants for the following position in our Monterey, California office:
CIVIL ENGINEER
Job Summary
Actively participates in the design and technical activities required on a wide range of public and private civil engineering projects.  Involved with engineering plan preparation, solving design problems, and other design related tasks.  Coordinates and communicates directly with other members of the project team, clients and public agencies. 
The Ideal Candidate Would Have:
  • California PE Registration.
  • 4+ years’ experience in design and different phases of land development and/or public works projects.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Strong, team-oriented work ethic.
  • Multi-tasking capabilities.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
 
What You’ll Do:
 
  • Design and prepare engineering plans.
  • Prepare project technical reports and specifications.
  • Review project design criteria.
  • Gather data and design information needed for project design.
  • Perform design calculations.
  • Coordination with clients and public agencies.
  • Oversee and review the work of other engineers.
  • Prepare project estimates.
  • Coordinate with other members of the design team and report directly to a Project Manager or Principal-in-Charge.
 
 
 
Project Manager
Job Summary
The Project Manager directs and manages project development from beginning to end.  They define the project scope, budget, schedule, and review and/or supervise all technical aspects of work.  The Project Manager is responsible for quality control and is the primary client contact.  They also serve as a resource and mentor other engineers and report directly to the Principal-In-Charge.
 
The Ideal Candidate Would Have:
  • California PE Registration.
  • 8+ years’ experience in design and management of land development and/or public works projects from inception to completion, including quality, budget, and costs.
  • Strong proficiency and working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Experience in all types of land development.
  • Experience in developing work with existing and new clients.
  • The capability to oversee and mentor other engineers.
  • Multi-tasking capabilities.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Strong, team-oriented work ethic.
 
What you’ll Do:
  • Serve as a manager for projects and represent the firm to clients.
  • Manage effective client communication and relationship development while meeting with and serving new clients.
  • Meet with clients, municipal officials, contractors, the public, and other related agents to review project needs and coordinate work.
  • Prepare project proposals from estimated project scope, schedule, and fees.
  • Oversee and prepare plans, designs, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Manage and supervise engineering and technical staff to ensure that project deadlines and needs are being met timely and effectively.
  • Manage project budget, schedule, and deliverables in accordance to established QA/QC.
  • Mentor, train, and oversee other engineering staff.
  • Prepare alternative analyses, due diligence, and feasibility reports.
  • Write and present plans and reports to clients, teammates, and agencies.
 
 
 

Land Survey Party Chief
The position involves boundary, topographic and ALTA surveys, lot line adjustments, subdivisions, Records of Survey and construction surveying.  Candidate shall demonstrate experience in the field aspects of these types of surveys. 
Requirements
  • < >4+ years experience working with surveying and engineering documents.
  • Proficient using Robotic Total Stations, GPS, AutoCAD and Civil 3D (Trimble preferred).
  • Experience operating as a one person crew, in addition to leading junior crew members.
  • Detail oriented, good organization skills, multi-tasking capabilities, easily adapts to changes, excellent verbal and written communication abilities, and strong, team oriented work ethic.
  • Physical: majority of the day is walking, standing, bending, and squatting.Requires fine manipulation in both hands.Continuously reaches above and below shoulder level.May work on rough, uneven, rocky or slippery surfaces.May be exposed to dust, gas, and noise, extremes in temperature and humidity, pollen, poison oak, insects and other wildlife.
  • Valid State of California driver’s license.
