Senior Timber Engineer III
 
We are looking for a reliable and detail oriented Senior Timber Engineer III to develop and design timber repairs and new construction for a variety of structures. The Timber Engineer III will also review design parameters to provide value engineering options for various timber structure types. This position provides support to the Manager Timber Engineering and reports to the Director Engineering, Testing and Inspections.
Responsibilities

• Must be willing to travel worldwide
• Know timber design codes for Australia, Canada, the United States and other countries
• Design new timber structures
• Design repairs for timber structures
• Provide expertise and support to field inspectors
• Provide clear, detailed direction to the Timber Engineering department for the design of new timber structures and the retrofitting of existing timber structures
• Provide clear, detailed direction to the CAD department for the development of design, construction and shop drawings
• Assist various departments in the development of standardized drawings and procedures
• Performs work in a timely, yet accurate, fashion

Required Qualifications

• Ability to obtain valid passport and any required work visas
• 15 years’ experience in the Timber Engineering field
• Professional Engineering Registration in a State in USA
• BS Degree in engineering
• Timber bridge and structure construction and design
• Proven working experience in Timber Engineering field
• Thorough and reliable
• Understanding of all facets of the construction process
• Ability to plan and see the “big picture”
• Competent in conflict and crisis management
• Leadership and human resources management skills
• Excellent time management skills
• Excellent CAD and other computer skills
• Effective oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in Timber Engineering related field
• Valid Passport
