Job Summary:

 
This position is responsible for repair and maintenance of plant medical device machinery and equipment. Responsible for assisting with the execution of all service activities, which includes the execution of a preventative maintenance program.

Duties/Responsibilities:

 

• Responsible for repair and maintenance of plant medical device machinery and equipment involving basic knowledge and abilities associated with the electronics, robotics, and mechanical processes.
• Repair, troubleshoot and maintain the following: Robotic automated filling machines, heat sealers, labelers, Air Compressors, Chiller, Production printers and other miscellaneous repairs as needed.
• Complete all necessary documentation of activities involving the servicing of equipment in accordance with the manufacturer requirements.
• Creating SOP on common repairs and procedures  
• Comfortable working in clean room
• Computer literacy and ability to read instrument schematics required.
• Responsible for the repair or replacement of control devices such as PLC, VFD, safety curtains, switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, pushbuttons, contactors, motor starters, etc. as needed.
• Help organize and maintain spare parts inventory.
• Ability to effectively interact with professionalism and work well at all levels, with production and warehouse personnel, as well as all other departments as assigned.
• At times, this role will be assigned to research replacement spare parts from vendors.
• Must be willing to work a flexible shift schedule including daily overtime and weekends as needed. 
• Assists with and learns to identify repair and in maintenance projects requiring the assistance of contractors or vendors; gathers information as directed to assist in estimating/evaluating project costs.
• Maintains a working knowledge of materials, systems and code requirements related to maintenance of medical device production facility.
• Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• One of the following:
  • Bachelors degree in Industrial, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering + 2 years of experience
  • Minimum 2-3 years equivalent formal related training required
  • Equivalent experience (5 years)

 

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods standing and walking.
• Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.
• Must be able to visually inspect machines.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
