NFSTC at FIU is actively seeking an Electrical Engineer II to support project activities at FIU's College of Engineering and Computing. in Miami, FL.
This is a temporary position for approximately twelve (12) months. This position is not eligible to participate in all employee benefit programs (e.g., paid leave, retirement, or tuition reimbursement). Under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), a temporary employee who works on average 30 hours or more per week may be eligible to enroll in health care benefits. Temporary employees are also eligible to enroll in supplemental plans (e.g. dental, vision,) which requires full payment on the employee’s part. The Electrical Engineer II performs product electrical systems development of mixed signals for instrumentation. Develops miniaturization abilities through signals application (reduced size, weight, and power battery operation). Conducts system design using embedded systems controls for instrument inputs and readouts to facilitate application integration with mechanical components.
Qualified individuals will have a bachelor's degree and seven (7) years of related experience, signals experience (analog and digital, A/D conversion, RF 2+ MHz up to 2000 Vrf, LC oscillators, DC -3000 to 200 volts, heater controls and ramping), and demonstrated electrical systems development.
