We are looking for a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) including filling our need for a Geomatics / Civil Engineer / CAD Operator Manager to join our team immediately.

Position Overview:The Professional Engineer will be required to stamp and certify construction survey drawings.
As a Geomatics / Civil Engineer CAD Operator Manager, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Technical tasks of creating field files for upload to the survey equipment from the design drawings;
- Processing of collected field survey data;
- Perform the drafting work to generate TIN, DTM, base plans, and calculate quantities for payments, or of material piles;
- Required to manage an office technical staff of 3-4 members as well as keeping projects on-time and ensuring all CAD needs are being met for all jobs assigned to ensure the company is on-task for project demands;
- Prioritize and adapt quickly to project demands by our Contractors;
- Candidate must be able to efficiently and proficiently handle high stressful Contractor demands but also adhere to the stressful demands of our Project Managers on staff.
Other Responsibilities
- Provide CAD support to the Project Managers and Field Survey Crews;
- Prepare take-off for structures, utilities, and roadway layouts;
- Perform advanced and specialized drafting (2D and 3D) to support design activities;
- Develop graphic presentations that include design features;
- Prepare base plans for structures, roadways, geotechnical, and other design disciplines such as the Engineers, Technical employees and other team members as needed;
- Calculate quantities for payment or for completion estimation and design purposes;
- Review field data files provided by others for drafting and calculation errors;
- Perform data download/upload to/from various Survey equipment and computer;
- Respond to inquiries from Project Managers, Site Engineers, Superintendents, and Contractors related to CAD system and;
- Make technical and mathematical checks as to the accuracy of data and calculations submitted by others.
Qualifications
- A Canadian Professional Engineers Designation;
- Geomatics or Civil Engineering degree from a Canadian recognized institution;
- Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer and or as a Land Surveyor in the province of Ontario;
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Land Development Desktop, Civil 3D;
- Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D, specifically within the construction survey industry;
- Experience in Micro Station and or In-Roads;
- Proficient in written and oral English communication skills;
- Strong interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and a desire to perform design engineering’
- Ability to deal with competing priorities and manage time appropriately;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook etc.);
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently when and if required;
- Minimum of five (5) years experience of progressive responsibility in similar positions;
- Minimum of five (5) years experience in CAD with knowledge base of MTO drawings, bridge and building drawings, construction layout drawings etc.

- Work is performed in an office environment with extensive sitting and computer use;
- Constant articulation of fingers, hands, and arms for operation of computer keyboards and other office machinery;
- Constant communication of information verbally and in writing to fellow employees, clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
