Education: University degree, college/technology diploma in Fire Suppression design or other applicable area
 
Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed fire protection design drawings in AutoCAD and REVIT
• Prepare detailed hydraulic calculations using computer based software (Tyco FDT)
• Implement company design and drafting standards
• Coordinate fire suppression design requirements with external project consultants (Architects, Electrical Engineers, Structural Engineers)
• Review fire suppression system shop drawings for conformance to design drawings and specifications

 
Requirements:
·    Minimum of 2+ years experience designing water based fire suppression systems
     (drawings and hydraulic calculations)

•   Ability to read Architectural, Electrical, Structural and Mechanical drawings
•   Knowledge of local building codes, local fire codes and NFPA codes 10, 13, 13R, 14, 20, 25, 30
•   Strong written and verbal communication skills
•   Ability to multi-task and work in a team environment
•   Familiar with the construction requirements of fire suppression systems
•   Asset – P.Eng.
•   Asset - Acting as Fire Protection Engineer of Record on past projects
•   Asset - Knowledge in HVAC and Plumbing design
•   Asset - Knowledge in Fire Alarm and Detection design
