Base annual salary without 10% Premium Pay $86,197.29 - $121,794.55. Annual salary including Premium Pay $94,817.20 - $133,974.01.

Position Overview
Manages and performs a variety of advanced professional engineering assignments in the project management, design and development of County infrastructure improvements, requiring advanced expertise in a specialized area of engineering or in multiple engineering-related functions.  The incumbent acts as a resource to engineers and technicians on complex projects and manages or oversees projects, project components, and professional contracts.  Work assignments are received with little technical instruction and require the selection of course of action and resolution of complex or unique problems with considerable latitude for independent judgment to develop procedures, systems and establish priorities working within the frameworks of established administrative guidelines.
 

 

QUALIFICATIONS FOR PERFORMANCE OF THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Required Education and Experience

  • Licensed as a WA State Professional Engineer (PE), or in process of securing WA State comity; or Certification as a Construction Manager from Construction Management Association of America, or, Certification as a Project Management Professional; and six years relevant requisite engineering experience, to include two years of supervisory or lead experience; OR
  • Bachelor's degree in related field and six  years requisite engineering experience, including two years of supervisory or lead experience; and successful applicant must obtain WA State Professional Engineer (PE), or Certification as a Construction Manager from Construction Management Association of America, or, Certification as a Project Management Professional, within one year of employment. 
*Engineering means the “practice of engineering” as defined in RCW 18.43.020.

Preferred Education, Experience or Other Qualifications

  • Six years of contract administration and project management experience.
  • Certified as a Project Management Professional.
  • Certified as a Construction Manager from Construction Management Association of America.
