Job Description:

This role collaborates with other disciplines, including Finance, GIS, Geoscience, Land, Operations, and Midstream to drive value creation and ensure delivery of key business metrics as part of the work necessary for the successful management of existing assets and potential acquisitions. Essential Duties and Major Responsibilities:

  • Assist in valuing acquisitions and divestitures in multiple basins by evaluating and recommending new and existing well locations, analyzing and post-appraise performance, and generating type curves for predicting future performance.
  • Develop economic models that capture key issues for use in decisions regarding development options. These models will include deterministic and probabilistic techniques to address the specific development issue (spacing, target interval, completion design, etc.).
  • Assist in managing various budget and cash flow forecasts, including quarterly and annual budgets, portfolio and long-range plans, line of credit associated reserve forecasts, business plans, etc.
  • Prepare technical presentations and monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for delivery to asset team, management, partners, banks, and regulatory agencies. Presentations will include analog well performance, reserve reports, and cost analysis.
  • Monitor production volumes on wells utilizing various techniques for tracking production performance. Work closely with the Land and Accounting staff to ensure revenue and JIB correctness. Conduct team-based well reviews to identify potential issues and opportunities.
  • Optimize the use and integration of reservoir engineering software with other programs.

Education and Experience Needed:

  • A bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering is required.
  • two to five years of industry experience in reservoir engineering is required.
  • Previous experience working within multiple basins is strongly preferred.
  • DJ Basin experience is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of oil and gas economics.
  • Solid knowledge of reservoir engineering fundamentals.
  • Expertise in Excel, Spotfire, Aries, and Enverus (preferred).
  • Ability to perform statistical studies.
  • Proficient in analyzing analog data to support scoping field development evaluations.

Compensation: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
