Job Description:

This is an onsite position based in Jasper, IN and is not remote-based. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. and the company does not plan to offer immigration sponsorship at this time.

This is a non-supervisory role that is responsible for the execution of product design and modifying products that meet customer requirements, while ensuring company profitability based on material and process specifications. This individual is critical to carrying out product development initiatives set forth by the company.

  • Read, interpret, and analyze content from customer or  designer drawings and specifications
  • Product design execution through proof-of-concept testing, 3D modeling, and analysis
  • Understand blueprints/drawings (interpretation and creation)
  • Responsible for creation and accuracy of data and manufacturing drawings
  • Define operational processes & determine material requirements utilizing ERP system
  • Collaborate regularly with manufacturing personnel to define and solve issues
  • Manage on-time prototype and production builds with manufacturing
  • Provide guidance and feedback to customers and designers
  • Drive and support root cause analysis
  • Conduct design and engineering appearance reviews
  • Maintain accurate BOMs for production
  • Write and implement ECRs; support the implementation of product changes in manufacturing facilities
  • Provide technical consultation internally to sales and marketing personnel and externally to customers
  • Identify and lead process improvements and cost containment initiatives
  • Ability to travel as needed for the purpose of visiting customers and designers (currently expected to be 10% or less)
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned at management’s discretionStrong communication skills – listening, verbal, and written

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field is preferred; minimum of Associate’s Degree is required
  • Proficiency in AutoDesk Inventor and/or other comparable 3D modeling software is required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required
  • 2 to 5 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Prior furniture experience is strongly preferred
