The CDC National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) seeks qualified candidates for an exciting career opportunity as a Supervisory Research General Engineer with the Health Effects Laboratory Division (HELD). HELD conducts basic and applied laboratory research focused on evaluating, controlling and preventing workplace safety and health hazards with offices and labs in Morgantown, West Virginia and Cincinnati, Ohio. The incumbent will serve as the Branch Chief of the Physical Effects Research Branch (PERB) in Morgantown. This Branch is responsible for the HELD inhalation facility. It provides technical support for developing state-of-the-art exposure systems that mimic occupational exposure to particulates, vapors, or biologics that may adversely affect worker health.

Duties:
As a Supervisory Research General Engineer duties may include but are not limited to:

• Providing advice, consultation, and recommendations to management on the need to include the subject matter expertise and involvement of engineers in other engineering science disciplines such as electrical, mechanical, civil, etc.
• Performing scheduling and layout of operations and inspection and surveillance of materials, methods, and equipment used in construction.
• Developing technical data regarding materials, sizes, qualities, dimensions, quantities, and costs to be incorporated into formal specifications.
• Providing guidance, development and coordination for the planning, engineering design, and oversight of maintenance projects.
