Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is currently seeking a Transportation Engineer 2 to serve as an Assistant Office Engineer for the Lacey Project Engineer Office (PEO). The Assistant Office Engineer will independently perform skilled journey level technical work in support of engineering projects. At this level, the employee is expected to exercise initiative and judgment in independently carrying out assignments according to established policies, procedures, and standards. This position provides essential support in monitoring contractor’s business activities during construction and ensuring project paperwork is performed in accordance with contracts. This position independently performs contract payments, reviews of pay note documentation, approval of pay note documentation and audits the contractor on their business practices.
