Description Project Engineers play a pivotal role in optimizing designs, conducting hydraulic and fluid dynamic modeling, reviewing and approving design drawings, generating submittals, O&M Manuals, and bills of materials (BOM’s); and engaging with engineering consultants, contractors, and clients to ensure effective system design. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Reviewing and collaborating with design team on 3D models using Autodesk Inventor with focus on design optimization.Prepare detailed submittals and operations & maintenance manuals for the manufacture and use of vessels, piping, and controls required for the treatment of municipal scale water systems.Create and maintain detailed BOM’s.Interfacing with consultants, contractors, operators, and clients on system design.Work with shop manufacturing, purchasing and sales to identify and resolve all design issues.Investigate and document product design changes / improvements.Oversee multiple engineering projects simultaneously.Continuously seek ways to improve the design process and communications.Meet project timelines. Required Skills/Abilities: Mechanical system design, focused on low pressure, fluid, and hydraulic based engineering.Experience with reviewing information in CAD format.Experience reading and understanding P&IDs.Must have the ability to review and understand technical specifications, plans, and bid documents for municipal construction projects.Experience with technical submittal and O&M manuals is a plus.Experience supporting manufacturing operations with accurate details and BOM’s is a plus.Experience in the municipal water and wastewater markets in the US is preferred.Proficiency in the use of CAD software, along with proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, or another 3D CAD modeling package is preferred.Experience with Project Management software is preferred.Experience using ERP systems is a plus, with Microsoft Dynamics – Business Central experience preferred.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be professional, proactive, and positive. Having a passion for exceptional support is a must. Being sensitive to unpredictable demands and uncertainties is a requisite to delivering superior results and exceeding the expectations of the role. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.3-5 years or more of related experience required.Professional Engineering Licensure (any state) is a plus. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.Able to travel as needed.
