Job Title: Senior Project Engineer – Mechanical Engineering Location: Washington, D.C. Position Overview:TJS Group is seeking a Senior Project Engineer with a mechanical engineering degree and at least 10 years of experience in the workforce. The ideal candidate will have expertise in facilities management, HVAC systems, boiler and chiller operations, energy conservation, and a strong ability to work with federal contracting requirements. This role involves overseeing maintenance projects, creating Statements of Work (SOWs), government estimates, and Request for Proposals (RFPs), as well as working directly with the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) to ensure project success. Key Responsibilities: Oversee and manage projects related to HVAC systems, boilers, chillers, and energy conservation initiatives.Provide technical leadership and ensure systems meet operational efficiency and energy goals.Develop comprehensive Statements of Work (SOW) and government estimates for various federal projects.Create and manage Request for Proposals (RFPs) in collaboration with government contracting teams.Work directly with the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) to ensure all project deliverables, timelines, and requirements are met.Conduct site assessments and develop solutions for optimizing energy use in federal facilities.Collaborate with the facilities management team to improve system performance and sustainability.Prepare technical reports, cost analyses, and energy optimization recommendations.Ensure compliance with federal regulations and sustainability goals. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.10+ years of experience in facilities management, HVAC, boiler, and chiller systems.Proven track record in energy conservation and system optimization.Strong experience in creating SOWs, RFPs, and government estimates.Experience managing large-scale projects in federal or commercial settings.Ability to work directly with federal Contracting Officer Representatives (CORs) to ensure project success.Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work both independently and in teams.Excellent communication and client interaction skills.Knowledge of federal contracting regulations, energy efficiency standards, and sustainability practices.
