This position will serve as a registered professional engineer responsible for managing and administering the statewide bridge and tunnel inspection Quality Assurance (QA) program. The Quality Assurance Engineer will support WSDOT’s mission of providing safe, reliable, and cost-effective transportation by ensuring the safety and reliability of the bridges and tunnels on the state highway system by providing an independent annual evaluation of WSDOT’s bridge and tunnel inspection programs. The successful candidate will accomplish this by ensuring that systematic procedures are used to maintain a high degree of accuracy and consistency within the inspection program per federal regulations outlined in both the National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS) and the National Tunnel Inspection Standards (NTIS).
