The NPD Project Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality and compliance of new product development processes within the plastics industry. This role involves developing and implementing quality control systems, monitoring quality performance, and collaborating with cross- functional teams to drive continuous improvements. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, a background in quality engineering, and specific experience in the plastics and thermoforming industries. This position is based on-site in Mansfield, MA, and requires a hands-on approach to ensure that all products meet the highest standards of quality and safety. Responsibilities Ensure the quality of products on the production floor. Train and mentor operators and quality inspectors on the production floor. Inspect and test materials, equipment, processes, and products to ensure compliance with quality specifications. Monitor and analyze quality performance during production runs. Collaborate with production managers to implement quality controls and improvements. Troubleshoot and resolve production quality issues in real-time. Ensure workflows, processes, and products comply with safety and quality regulations. Develop and implement corrective actions for quality issues identified during production. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Quality, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering. 3-5 years of experience in quality engineering within the plastics industry. Extensive experience working on the production floor is required. ASQ certification preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Comfortable working in a loud, dynamic environment with PPE and temperature variations.
