Senior Electrical Power Generation EngineerAviation Ground Equipment Corp is a manufacturer and military supplier. We are seeking a Senior Electrical Power Generation Engineer with systems experience to support the design of power generation and conversion with embedded control systems in the military aerospace industry.AGEC is an industry leader in the manufacturing and supply of ground support equipment (GSE) to global commercial and military customers and end users. AGEC operates two divisions, our OEM division designs and produces world-class GSE supporting a wide range of military aircraft platforms, on behalf of defense prime contractors and Government program offices. Our Commercial Division distributes an excellent line card of ground support equipment, parts, and service to global MRO, airline operators, Government agencies, and aviation end users. What you will do:Support of the life cycle of new product development from concept, through design and development, testing, and product support.Develop embedded control architectures, algorithms, and requirements for high-power energy conversion systems.Analog circuit design, digital circuit design, and software design and troubleshooting. This includes an interface to electromechanical systems.Develop and execute test plans to validate designs comply with product specifications.Successful transfer of new designs to production.Develop embedded software design and programming of microcontrollers and/or DSPs for control of power converters using C programming language.Conducts validation, verification, and qualification testing. Verifies that designs are implemented accurately, considering power quality and performance, systems interfaces, physical environment, etc.Test hardware performance with embedded software/firmware, utilizing JTAG interface, logic analyzers, and oscilloscopes.Provides product support as appropriate by isolating faults and resolving design issues.Monitors the activities of subcontracted technical services.Document designs, specifications, engineering changes, and test reports.Create schematics and layout design.What you will need: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or similar field.Five (5) to ten (10) years of experience in electrical engineering product design and development.Embedded software required.Experience in power generation required.Proficiency with computer-aided design (CAD) software.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Sense of ownership & urgency with projects and work assignments.Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.Effective written and verbal communication skills.Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations.Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced dynamic environment.Experience in the Aerospace industry is preferred.Experience with control of AC-DC, DC-DC, and DC-AC power converters is an advantage.Travel up to 25%.
