As an experienced Project Engineer, you will contribute to the successful design and management of civil engineering projects within the region making a positive impact on the local community. You will collaborate with other offices, communicate with agencies, regulators and contractors to build relationships and quality projects with high client satisfaction. Location: Tahoe Office Position Description Project Engineer plays a vital role in contributing to the successful design and management of civil engineering projects within the region, making a positive impact on the local community. Responsibilities Collaborate with senior engineers in the development of infrastructure projects, such as roadway design, roadway reconstruction and resurfacing, roadway improvements, pavement evaluations, streetscape projects, drainage improvements, erosion control, facilities, stream environment zone restoration, stormwater treatment facilities, site & utility design, utility relocation, campground design, pedestrian and bikeway improvements and water and sewer system improvements. Participate in the design and analysis of transportation systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and regulations. Utilize engineering software and tools for modeling, simulations and calculations. Collect and analyze traffic, environmental, and other relevant data to inform project decisions and make data driven recommendations. Prepare detailed reports. Assist in the creation of technical documentation required for project proposals, permits and regulatory compliance. Participate in quality control and quality assurance processes to ensure project accuracy and efficiently. Collaborate with clients, regulatory agencies, and project stakeholders to facilitate communication and ensure project objectives are met. Seek opportunities to integrate sustainable and innovative solutions into all types of projects, aiming for environmentally conscious and cost-effective designs. Conduct site investigations and assessments to inform project design and decision-making Work with local authorities to obtain permits and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and codes. Prepare detailed engineering plans, drawings and specifications for construction. Utilize AutoCAD and Civil 3D and other relevant software for design and drafting. Assist in the construction phase by providing support during construction, monitoring project progress, ensuring adherence to project specifications and reviewing submittals. Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including progress report, change orders, and project schedules. Engage with clients, contractor, and other stakeholders to maintain clear and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle. Ensure the quality and integrity for project deliverables and coordinate with the project team to address any issues that may arise. Requirements: Minimum B.S. in Civil Engineering and 6 years of experience or M.S. with 4 years of experience. Valid driver’s license and transportation. PE in CA required and PE licensure in NV within 6 months. Knowledge of relevant software and tools for analysis and design (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Water CAD, Storm CAD, Sewer CAD, Excel, Word, Microsoft project and others) Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think critically in complex situations. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members, clients, and stakeholders. Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment. It considers factors such as the effectiveness of your designs in meeting project objectives adhere to industry standards and regulations and the ability to provide innovative and cost effective solutions for our clients. Collaboration with Cross-functional Teams: Civil engineering design often involves collaboration with various stakeholders, including structural, geotechnical engineers, architects, contractors and other professionals.
