Job Description:

Position Overview:We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our cement production facility team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial maintenance within heavy manufacturing settings, preferably with direct experience in cement production. This role is responsible for ensuring that all production equipment and systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably, contributing to the facility’s overall operational performance. Key Responsibilities: Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and calibrations on equipment such as kilns, mills, crushers, conveyors, fans, and dust collectors.Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues. Execute timely repairs or coordinate with specialized technicians to restore equipment functionality and minimize downtime.Equipment Overhauls: Assist in major overhauls and rebuilds of key production equipment, ensuring adherence to OEM specifications and plant safety standards.Fabrication & Welding: Conduct basic metal fabrication, cutting, and welding tasks as needed to repair or upgrade plant components.Process Optimization: Work closely with the production and engineering teams to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions that enhance equipment reliability, product quality, and production efficiency.Documentation: Maintain detailed service logs, work orders, parts usage records, and maintenance schedules using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).Safety & Compliance: Follow all company and industry safety guidelines, participate in safety meetings and training, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.Continuous Improvement: Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by recommending changes to maintenance procedures, spare parts inventory, and equipment upgrades. Qualifications & Requirements: High school diploma or GED required; technical/vocational training in industrial maintenance or a related field preferred.Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in industrial maintenance, with direct exposure to cement, mining, or other heavy manufacturing operations strongly preferred.Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical equipment, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, alignment, and basic electrical and instrumentation systems.Skilled in reading and interpreting technical manuals, drawings, schematics, and blueprints.Experience using CMMS and familiarity with root cause analysis techniques.Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with operators, engineers, and management.Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying environmental conditions.Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and respond to on-call emergencies as needed.
