We are the highest rated state agency for employee satisfaction on Glassdoor with 300+ reviews.   NEW HIGHER SALARY: $39,671 - $69,426   The Challenge We are hiring an experienced Engineering Technician to join our Whittier Construction team.   In this role, you will Serve as a Project Inspector on roadway and structure projects.Review National Pollutant Discharge Elimination Systems (NPDES) paperwork and complete assorted documentation, including daily diaries, sample cards, asphalt reports, concrete reports, pay record books, materials received forms, and monthly estimate.Monitor and inspect erosion control and traffic control devices.Test concrete, perform densities (conventional & nuclear), take materials samples, and inspect asphalt.Take field measurements and perform calculations and computations to determine contract pay quantities.   What You Bring Experience performing materials inspections, sampling, and testing (concrete, asphalt density) to ensure compliance with NCDOT specifications.Demonstrated ability supervising work of others to obtain desired results.Working knowledge of pay record book entries and material received reports.Skills evaluating and applying engineering judgement to construction plans, contract provisions, and inspection procedures.Experience maintaining neat, legible, and accurate records and reports, including computer/iPad data entry.   Education & Experience Associates Degree in Civil Engineering, Survey Technology, or a related discipline, and2+ years of engineering technician experience, orAn equivalent combination of education and experience.    Questions?
