We are the highest rated state agency for employee satisfaction on Glassdoor with 300+ reviews.   NEW Higher Salary: $61,545 - $107,703   The Challenge​​​​​​​ We are looking for an experienced Surveying/Geomatics Engineer to join our Location & Surveys team.   In this role you will: Support our Location & Survey Head and Assistant Head.Analyze procedures, document them, and report on new technical procedures.Provide compilations and updates on all Location & Survey procedures, policies, and processes.Facilitate meetings, document meeting activities, and follow-up action items.Research new and innovative technologies.Facilitate activities with Transportation Engineering Associates (TEAs), interns, and educational institutions.Facilitate Location & Survey safety program and safety audits.   What You Bring Experience using Civil engineering and Route Location surveying principles and practices.Experience anticipating and developing solutions to unique geomatic/surveying problems.Experience analyzing geomatic/surveying processes and supporting the development of new ways to improve operations.Experience prioritizing work and managing multiple priorities, developing work schedules, and monitoring goal progress.Knowledge of the functions and duties of NCDOT units, branches, and divisions.Experience clearly and effectively communicating technical information verbally and in writing to varied audiences.   Note We may require registration as a professional engineer by the NC Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors.   Education & Experience Bachelors Degree in engineering, and3+ years of relevant experience; orAn equivalent combination of education and experience.   Inspire me to join the NCDOT Location & Surveys team Want to be part of the team providing statewide engineering and geomatics analysis in the development of transportation facilities and acquisition of property in accordance with the best professional engineering and surveying practices consistent with all laws and regulations governing the State Highway System?
